Women And Hypertension

Women and HBP

More women than men suffer from high blood pressure and hypertension and that difference increases as we women gro older.  High blood pressure can lead to hypertension and that can cause stroke, heart attack, blindness, anurisims or death.  As a matter of fact, hypertension will kill over 50,000 people each year and will be a contributing factor in 300,000 additional deaths according to the National Health Institute.

Women, particularly post menapause women, need to be aware of their risks and what they can do to prevent or control high blood pressure.

The very first thing a woman needs to do is see her doctor and have her blood pressure taken.  The American Heart Association estimates that 30% of the people who have high blood pressure don't know it.  Not knowing you have that condition is exceptionally dangerous in that you aren't aware of the risks that your current behavior presents.  Go see your doctor!  This will probably take two trips as he/she will want at least two readings to determine what your pressure actually is.

What Behaviors Are Risky?

*Smoking*

*Overweight or Obese*

*Sedentary Lifestyle*

*Excessive Alcohol Intake*

*Stress*

*Fatty, Salty Diet*

If you can answer yes to any of these behaviors, you need to modify your lifestyle for your own health and safety.  The good news is that in most cases, high blood pressure can be prevented or reduced without using drugs.  Blood pressure medication ought to be the last choice defense due to the myraid of negative side effects plus the enormous ongoing cost.  If your doctor suggests medication ask him if you can get the same effect using a natural approach incorporating the proper diet and exercise.

Saying that it can be controlled naturally doesn't mean that it is easy.  It involves changes that many people find difficult to do.  If you're a smoker you know how hard that is to quit even knowing what damage it is doing to you.  If you're a woman you have undoubtedly gone through diet plans (and scams) to loose weight.  It's tough.  Maybe that's why so many people automatically opt for drugs because it's so simple to do.

The problem of course is how miserable your life can become.  The drugs will change your lifestyle for you.  Side Lose Belly Fateffects include feeling weak, dizziness, lethargy, depression, frequent urination and even death.  That, and the dollars you spend, are the cost of going the "easy" route.

So if you're an overweight woman who smokes a pack a day, has three or four drinks at night, thinks Burger King is a 5 star restaurant and is employed as a stock broker, odds are you have high blood pressure and you are not going to be able to change your lifestyle all at once.

But...you don't have to.  With this disease, anything you do to reduce the risks is a good thing.  Pick the behavior that you think is the easiest to change and start changing.  Little things can have an immdiate effect.

Did you know that 30 minutes of exercise like walking can reduce your pressure several points immediately and keep it down for up to 22 hours?  You say you don't have 30 free minutes in your day?  How about three 10 minute walks (to lunch, from lunch, etc) they have the same effect as doing it all at once.

There are other simple tips you can implement without effort like eating a banana a day, but you need to know where to get the info and create a plan.

This disease is too dangerous to ignore or make up excuses for.

Natural Blood Pressure PlanIf you like, you can spend the next few days googling every blood pressure term and search for the best way to control blood pressure.  Hopefully you'll get all the info you need.  Or, you can get a step by step plan, one that's easy to understand as well as proven effective, by clicking on the book to the left.

I know.  Why should you pay for information when you can find it free on the internet?  That was my thinking too untill I started to research the disease.  Do you know that if you Google the phrase women and high blood pressure it comes back with 13.2 million results?  Good luck with that.  Here's an opportunity to get the information you need to start improving your health immediately.  I highly recommend the Blood Pressure Remedy Report as your blueprint for fighting HBP.
